Fernando Torres joined Chelsea for a British record transfer fee in January 2011, having set the world alight at Liverpool and reaching 50 goals quicker than any other former Liverpool player to earn a reputation as an Anfield darling. He had blistering pace and fantastic skill, and many of the world’s defenders would have feared playing against him.

So when he joined Chelsea from Liverpool, many Chelsea fans could be forgiven for expecting him to continue in the same vain for them, but history has said differently. Unfortunately for El Nino, it has not worked out that way, and he has scored just 21 goals in 108 appearances in all competitions so far for the Blues.
